JMS Annex - Berkeley, CA | 2013 | Office | Completed |
For this auxiliary space for John McNeil Studios, a pure gallery-style box is given unlimited programmatic versatility. The operable front facade and a large-format pivoting wall beyond allow for a range of relational conditions, from an open setting spatially linked to the street to a completely cellular set of interior rooms. Within, a seamless storage wall running the full depth of the space conceals programmatic activators—tables, chairs, couches, modular dividers and equipment—until they are ready to be used.
